April 27-28

April 27-28

Flew to London on April 27. Took the train into London from the airport, then the tube and another train to get to our self-catering apartment. We are staying near Greenwich and the train and bus stops are right outside the place we are staying. On the 28th we took a bus to Westminster. We saw Big Ben and the parliament building. We took a tour of Westminster Abbey, it is amazing and very beautiful. We then walked down to Buckingham Palace. Sean has requested a private tea with the Queen. We are still waiting to hear back. We spent the remainder of the day walking around London in the Piccadilly Circus area.

Seville, Spain

April 22

Our adventure took us to Seville, Spain, the third largest city in Spain and very beautiful. We took a river boat tour, visited the Jewish Quarter and toured the world’s largest cathedral. Would love to come back some day and spend more time.

Silves-Lagos-Cape Saint Vincent, Portugal

April 21

We took a tour of historical Algarve with our first stop being in Silves. Silves was once an ancient Moorish capital. We toured the castle and cathedral. Our tour took us to the top of the tallest mountain in the region, Monchique Mountain 2,960 feet. We got to have a sample of some brandy infused with honey – yum. Our next stop was the town of Lagos where the first slave market in Europe appeared. Our last stop on the tour was Cape Saint Vincent – the most southwesterly point in Europe.
